Environmental Concern

The explosion of commercial marijuana growing has caused:

Illegal diversion of streams, spills of diesel fuel, hazardous waste, fires, poisoning of wildlife, erosion and massive dumping of plastic debris and other trash.
Dumping and leaks of pesticides, fertilizers, trash, waste oil and diesel fuel by marijuana growers.
Speeding vehicles driven by growers, their workers and customers have impacted rural roads. Some roads are pounded into dust by diesel delivery and water trucks.

These are just a few of the issues surrounding marijuana grows that are causing an environmental disaster throughout Mendocino County.
