July 2007 - Firefighters clean up after a blaze July 23, 2007 caused by a marijuana grower’s generator on Walker Road near Willits. A leaking diesel tank required removal of 18 cubic yards of soil. The sheriff discovered over 300 plants and a room full of processed bud, but left it all.

Dumping and leaks of pesticides, fertilizers, trash, waste oil and diesel fuel by marijuana growers is causing an environmental disaster throughout Mendocino County.

This photo shows a pit in the ground on Shimmins Ridge Road that a commercial marijuana grower used to dump waste oil from his generator. Cleanup could cost $1 million.

The Yes on B Coalition wants limits on marijuana growers to help protect us from abuses like this.

Commercial Indoor grow operation.

A whole room of processed marijuana 'bud' was left on scene by Mendocino County Sheriff's Deputy, at Walker Road in Willits, after calling his supervisor and reporting that the occupant showed 19 'caregiver cards.'  There were also 300+ plants.

Typical waste and dangerous items, such as guns, propane and unknown powder substances left behind by commercial marijuana growers.

Whenever the County tries to enforce any

limits on marijuana growing, the

“no limits” lobby threatens to sue for

“violation of Measure G.” The sheriff

has been discouraged from helping

citizens who complain about even the

most severe problems. Measure B

will show that the public wants

reasonable protections.
